More bad news from the Trump administration for burned students of for profit schools like Devry University. The Trump administration on Wednesday said it plans to revise two Department of Education regulations aimed at helping borrowers who say they were misled by for-profit colleges like Devry. Trump is attempting to undo a pair of Obama administration regulations designed to protect for-profit students that either failed to earn projected incomes or claimed they were misled or defrauded by the schools.
One of the rules, known as the Borrower to Defense Repayment regulation, was scheduled to take effect next month. The other, called the Gainful Employment regulation, is already on the books. Many of the Devry victims we’ve heard from said they were planning on trying to take advantage of these programs. Please read the article below for more information for why those options are dimming.
We believe the best odds of wiping out some, or all, of your student loans is through a separately filed lawsuit against Devry. We are now representing 181 current or former Devry students on a contingency fee basis.
